What are some ways to help or ease back pain from an injury?I was told that for any back or spinal injury a brace is best but they can be very uncomfortable. Is there any other solutions that work to relieve pain. I also heard water exercises are good.

Depending on the type of injury or problem the treatments could vary. Some spinal problems can worsen with immobility or bracing, whereas others benefit from that approach. The same thing applies for exercises. For certain back problems, exercises may be the worst thing to be doing presently. Is it acute or has it been a chronic problem? The best thing to do with any spinal injury is to have it assessed immediately by a qualified professional. After a thorough orthopaedic, neurological and physical exam, an assessment can be made. Xrays or advanced imaging may also be necessary. From that information, recommendations can be made.
