Back Pain Info:35 weeks pregnant with diarrhea, menstrual like cramps, and back pain?

35 weeks pregnant with diarrhea, menstrual like cramps, and back pain?I am 35 weeks pregnant. I have been having menstrual like cramps, back pain and diarrhea since Sunday. And I think my mucous plug came out; as it was a sticky and clunky substance. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said my cervix isn't dilated or anything. He said the diarrhea might be a virus. But I didn't have diarrhea yesterday. And now today, I have had diarrhea 4 times already. I do not believe this is a virus. I have persistant cramps. But I do not feel like I am having contractions. As this is my first pregnancy and I am not even sure what they feel like. What could be wrong with me?

your baby is dropping, as far as the diarrhea goes, im not quite sure, you should go back to the doctor and have him check you out,

My friend experienced the same thing late in her pregnancy. I've read that diarhea can be just as common as constipation in pregnancy. As for the cramps, it's probably just you're body preparing itself to go into labor. If your mucus plug did in fact come out, then you are on your way to going into labor. The back pain is just a common side effect from carrying a fully developed baby inside you. Try not to worry too much, as this can cause an extremely uncomfortable delivery period.

hmm... when i was 35 weeks with my first preg. i had major diarrhea. i maybe went like 5 or 6 times but on top of that i was vomiting as well.. about 4 to 5 times... i went in to the ER and i had my baby the next day... when i went in i was not dialated.. about an hour later i was at 3... they broke my water because my babies heartbeat was beating too fast.. because of the vomiting and diarrhea... with in 1/2 hr i was to 10 and had my baby and hour later... I too was getting a virus...if it keeps up go to the ER or call your Dr. again...

Take imodium and see if it helps. Immodium is safe to take and won't cross the placenta. It really could be a virus, or the onset of early labor. I would try immodium and then see what happens. If you are still cramping, and still having diarrhea tomorrow, I would call your doctor again.
