Can a pinched nerve in the neck cause random pain spasms in the back, hip, and buttocks?I'm trying to figure out the cause (and solution) to random pain spasms in my back and hips. It's been going on for two years. It started in my back and I couldn't sleep. Then it went to my hips and it's circling my hips. The pain will last for months, then I will feel fine for a few months, then it will be in a different spot for a few months.

seems a pinched nerve would affect the central nervous system which would affect a lot of other parts of the body, so my answer is yes, this link might help http://symptoms.webmd.com/

Yes it can. Main nerve (sciatic) runs from your back all the way down to your foot. Seek help from a chiropractor to realign your spine and hips for relief. Pain pills just mask the real cause of the pain anyway.
