How should a tens unit be used at home? Everyday or just when it hurts?

How should a tens unit be used at home? Everyday or just when it hurts?I have back, neck, and arm pain. The arm pain is from nerve damage. I go to therapy once a week now. I have a massage chair, lidocaine patches, heat, cold. I'm not too big on oral meds but do have cream.

Following an accident resulting in permanent nerve damage, I was going to Physiotherapy 3x and Ergo therapy 2x a week, along with other forms of therapies slowly dwindling down to 0 on all.

I do all the exercises from Physio every morning, ending with the tens for 15 minutes. If having a particularly bad day, I use the tens machine quite a few times a day.

Before you stop therapy, have your therapist show you all the different settings on the tens and how to use them properly.
