Upper back pain and shoulder pain?Ok, for the past few months I have been having back pain. This all happened when I had a care rear ended me back in 09. But the few weeks the my upper back has a lot of pressure and feels like my spine is going to break. I know its not but that is what it feels like. The pain is also ina bit below my shoulder blades and goes down to my lower back. I found a spot on my spine where it is sore and that is the spot where the ppressure is. Any ideas what this could be?

it could be a tendon strain.. you may be compensating using other parts of your body to relieve the pain and that could be why you are experiencing pain in different areas. have you done any type of stretches first thing in the morning? it hurts like a bitch bu will loosen up those tight tendons and muscles.

With out an examine it is unclear...the possibilities are: bulged disk, ruptured disk, slipped disk(probable), or you vertebra may be out of alignment(also likely). I would suggest a chiropractor that takes x-rays(this is a must given the nature of injury and delicate area getting worked on) as the first step if that doesn't work the an orthopedic doctor.

The others are right, without a doctors examination, there is no way for sure to know what it is. I agree about the ruptured tendon, and your body compensating by using other areas to help you move.
You might want to consider some sort of sleep aid to ensure that your body is in its most natural position while you sleep. If your body is natural, then any injured areas of your back might be able to fix themselves, provided the injury isn't extremely severe.
