What causes right back sharp pain,lower back which extends to right hip and inner right thigh area.?Right back pain, feels like right muscle running north and south being twisted, a pulling sensation as well as lower right back pain, a sharp pain. Only thing to help us a back wrap which I wear a lot. I'm right handed and do a lot of gardening.

Sciatic nerve or herniated disc go to your physician and tell him the symptoms. Physical Therapy might help. One way to confirm would be an MRI, although MRI's don't always show everything. Back injuries can be tricky, just because it can't be seen doesn't mean it's not there. Don't let it go and have someone tell you it's a strain. If you are feeling pain in your legs or reaching your toes or heels at times, there is a problem. I had someone keep telling me it was just a severe strain. Well after complaining enought we found out it was a herniated disc and even though my symptoms couldn't be understood I continued. I was having pain in my left leg and also in my right but the herniated disc was on the left. Some symptoms can't be explained but don't disregard them. If your body is saying there is pain even though it doesn't seem like it should be in that area, tell your doctor and make sure he listens. Mine did.
