I have back pain while sleeping(only when my wife is in bed with me)?I work 3rd shift throughout the week. My wife and daughter are up and out the door before I go to bed.
During the weekend I sleep normal hours with my wife. This is when my back kills me. I thought maybe my movement and or sleep position was restricted, but it seems like I have plenty of room.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

A little part of your problem might be that you need a new mattress. When you are both in the bed together the weight of both in the bed might be sagging the mattress. In other words you are not getting enough support. Look at the ads most of them in force individual supports. Many couples end up sleeping in different bed because they say they get a better Nights sleep.When you sleep with your wife you might be sleeping just on one side and causes your back to hurt.

Not necessarily restricted, but you're obviously sleeping different with her than you do alone. Remember that most of the week you're in bed by yourself, so your body has grown accustomed to getting into a comfortable position to sleep without anyone else next to you. Don't rule out sex either; if you're only sleeping together on the weekends, that's activity you can't discount.
One way you can help figure out what you're doing differently is to use a video camera and set it up so it takes pics of you sleeping during the week, and with your wife on the weekends. Once you actually see what you're doing different, it'll be easier to determine how to correct it.

Sounds like your sleep posture is different when you wife is in bed. Some sleep positions allow gravity to pull your spine out of its natural alignment which can lead to back pain when sleeping. This is especially common for the lumbar (lower back) area. Consider supporting your lower back with towels or with a commercial product designed to improve sleep posture.
