Pain in upper left back by shoulder blade when breathing...?This started yesterday morning. I've been congested and woke up yesterday morning with a pain in my back, upper left, next to shoulder blade. It really hurts when I inhale. I won't be able to see a doctor until next Friday and wanted to bounce this off y'all to see if anyone knows what the heck is wrong with me. I've had an upper respiratory infection this week which seems to be getting better, If I have fever, it's a very low grade one. Thanks everybody.

I get the exact same pain, on both sides of my back.
I went to the doctor, and he basically said I had asthma.
But I just take my inhaler when it hurts and it feels much better.
It could still be the infection, but I'd go to the doc to be sure,.

You may have just strained a muscle that runs through hat area of your body; however, because of your recent history of congestion and an upper respiratory infection, you should have this checked by medically trained personnel to eliminate any concerns you may have and, if necessary, get medical treatment started as soon as possible.
