severe back pain when breathing deeply.?For about 5 days now my back has been hurting when i take really deep breaths I went to the doctor and he said I probably had swine flu but they weren't testing people anymore for it. Yesterday I was much better and hardly had no back pain but today It hurts to breathe deeply cough and even walk. I was wondering what this could be and if I should go back to the doctor or get a second opinion.

do lung exercise i have the same problems when waking up then it goes away after a little while

I suggest consulting the doctor again and having a x-ray done. This happened to me aswell and it turned out it was a muscular inflammation

In some cases the cause may be a sprain (an over-stretch) of a ligament or muscle. In other cases the cause may be a minor problem with a disc between two vertebrae, or a minor problem with a small 'facet' joint between two vertebrate.
Sometimes a pain may develop immediately after you lift something heavy, or after an awkward twisting movement. Sometimes you can just wake up with back pain.
It should be gone in at most 6 weeks and pain can come and go
if the pain is high on your back or around your neck then this is more serious and you should consult your doctor again.
(19/20 of back pains are non serious so don't worry... even if it really hurts)
lying flat on your back or putting a hot-water bottle on your back should ease the pain

Absolutely, but I'd see a doc that would test for h1n1. It could also be pleuritis. Inflamation of the pleural lining of the lungs. It can be very painful. If you're not taking deep breaths, it could lead to pneumonia. Best get it checked out ASAP. Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.
