What's the best herbal plant for back pain and muscle spasms?

What's the best herbal plant for back pain and muscle spasms?I've had sever back and leg pain since I was 15 I'm 22 now. I also suffer from horrible R.L.S. or leg spasms. Is there a plant that I could grow and smoke, or drink in a tea that could help me with either or both of my problems?

Back pain is usually from pinched muscles or tight muscles. Once they are either tight or pinched they are going to hurt until they are released. It is very easy to pinch a muscle, just turn the wrong way, bend over, pick something up, any motion or too heavy of an object that you are trying to lift. Regardless of how you got it or which one it is the release of it is the same and is as follows:
Back:
Place your left hand on your left knee. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don't tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg. If you can lean over the outside edge of your leg it will be better for your release. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.
For lower back, on the buttocks:
Put both hands behind your back and place them on the muscles alongside your spine and press on them and hold. Now relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don't tense up any part of your body. When the release starts to happen, slowly lower yourself forward as far as you can go. Then release the pressure but hold your body there for one minute longer.
To be on the safe side I also sent the one for your lower back. That one you can do all the way to the end of your tailbone and find relief.
For your leg spasms I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe some of that will come out in the muscle release you are doing. One thing I have done with charley horses is to dig my fingers right into it and it stops everything right there. However it works it has sure been helpful on those that have woke me up in the night.

Some herbs which are good, are Lavendar and St Johns Wort, or if it's due to a kidney problem, Hydrangea.
St Johns wort can be made into an ointment to rub on, or made into a tea (1-2 cups morning and night), and also capsuals can be made from it.
Lavendar as you know can also comevery timeform, which is widely availble. Place 2-3 drops onto a sugar cube, and dilute in water or tea for internal use! You can also buy Lavander tea.
Try your local Holland and Barret or other herbal store for these things!

But also when I had this problem a while ago, I got a damn good massage and it seemed to go, I didn't move around for a week, I didn't go walking, and I tried to sit as straight as possible. After a few days it went.

Mine was agony, everytime I moved forward or bent down my back would spasm, it was terrible.

Take one strong (500mg) Ibuporphen every mornign when you get up, or before you go to bed if the pain is mostly in the morning. My back pain is history now! Hope this helps!

There are many herbal remedies that have been used for centuries to treat back pain. Devil's claw and willow bark are two popular examples. Some of them you can put together yourself. You can read more about herbs for back pain at:

Back pain is a mechanical problem whereas RLS is usually nerve related. Its difficult to find the same herbs that can benefit in both the issues.

Herbs such as Harpagophytum procumbens (Devil's Claw) boasts powerful properties that help to promote healthy joints and acts as a digestive tonic while Glucosamine sulphate repairs joints and cartilages. Boswellia serata is another excellent herb that promotes joint and muscle comfort and benefits digestion.

A well known herb, Astragalus membranaceous, has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine, and balances and improves the functioning of all the body's organ systems through its adaptogenic and tonic properties. It also boosts circulation and assists absorption of iron from food.

Ruscus acluteatus, also known as Butcher's Broom improves poor circulation and relieves the pain and discomfort associated with restless leg syndrome. It is also useful in treatment of constipation and water retention, circulatory disorders including hemorrhoids and varicose veins and as a bladder and kidney tonic. In addition, Aesculus hippocastum (Horse Chestnut) helps promote healthy blood circulation throughout the body, including the legs and can relieve Periodic Limb Movement and RLS by keeping the blood flowing smoothly even during and sleep and rest.
