What can I do about this pain in my middle back (from pregnancy)? For the past month my back hurts everyday on the right side of my spine-middle of my back. Heating pad and tylenol are not cutting it. The pain is so bad and it travels from my back to my side (right under my ribs). The physical therapist and my OB say its muscle spasms. Physical therapy isn't helping...the only thing that helps is laying flat on my back.
I'm 6 months pregnant now and it's just getting worse.
Please don't just say yoga or acupuncture.

Unfortunately during pregnancy some people have these back pains that they just can't get rid of. My friend had it through her whole pregnancy. The only thing I can suggest is try hot baths (which make you feel weightless anyways :D) and try your best to stay off your feet. Don't arch your back to carry your belly (that's usually where the pain starts) and try to do moderate stretches when you wake up and before you go to bed.

Try wearing a maternity belt. I have terrible back pain, from before I was pregnant which increased with each pregnancy. Around 5 months of my 2nd I bought a belt and wore it at work, when I was cleaning and playing with my 1st. My back still hurt but it did alleviate some of the pain.
