Could anything running-related contribute to lower back pains?I'm a teenage girl who runs track / cross country and has w/ lower back pains.
I run around 30 miles a week, and I've been running about 2 years (with breaks in between, of course).
The pain doesn't get any worse during running, but could running be a factor?

Wow, congrats, that is a lot of miles per week. You could run a 1/2 marathon on that distance. Not knowing all the particular's and seeing how you run, best answer I can give is that it is possible.
You could look to your shoes for answers, with that type of mileage you more then likely should be going through shoes every 3 - 4 months. But this could vary with the shoe you wear, often New Balance and Suconey wear much faster then Nike and Asics.
Have your gait looked at as maybe you should be in a different shoe, shoes come in Neutral, stablity and motion control. So it is possible you are not quite fitted properly in the shoe you are wearing.
Often Lower back pain can be contributed to running. But there can be other factors as well. Such as you are growing still and running could be effecting the growth pattern. Depending on your age, 30 miles per week could be to much.
if you are under 16 you more then likely should be limiting yourself to maybe 20 miles a week, at 18, 30 miles would be OK. If you are younger 13 - 14 you should be looking at only 10 - 15 miles a week.
Just my opinion based on reading I have done on younger runners.
