I have started a running program and after I run, I get lower back pain and lower abdominal gas. Help?Has anyone ever had this problem? I thought it was a water issue, but I have increased my water intake and it's seems to be getting worse.

Don't run with a full stomach.

The gas is easy,it was there already, the excercise will increase the colonic activity however,so it just seems like there is more. The increasinig activity may also be a factor with the pain issue, but that could be due to a number of causes. When did you last undertake regular excercise,(indicates your current level of fitness) how heavy you are now, ditto, how hard and for how long are you running.Regular excercise is normally beneficial, but if you haven't done any for a while it is best to start gently and build up.Afew back strengthening excercises might help, but again not too much, you'll just make it worse.
