Back Pain Info:What exactly do early back labor contractions feel like?

What exactly do early back labor contractions feel like? This is my third pregnancy. I have never experienced back labor before. I started the morning with typical braxton hicks contractions that I thought were getting stronger and then seemed to stop. Now, this afternoon, I keep getting a cramping/painful sensation in my spine - it comes in waves that make me pause whatever I'm doing. It's really hard to describe but seems to radiate up my spine and stiffen (similar to a braxton hick) and I can feel my pulse with it. I know I'm not in labor but just wanted to find out more about the back labor pains. Thanks...38 weeks...2 more to go!!

Back labor contractions are often described as a cramping or tightening sensation that starts in the back and moves around to the front in a wave-like manner. Others say the contraction feels like pressure in the back. I've heard most women say that back labor hurts worse than a regular labor. Luckily, I didn't have to go through back labor

Oh yeah thats back labor. Keep track of the timing when it gets close go in. Good luck and congratulations!! No not two weeks from now but I think today-plz go get checked if the back pains continue. Braxton hicks do not go to the back like that!!

To me it hurt in my lumbar area, and the pain radiated throughout my lower back, through my hips, and even my legs, in addition to the regular abdominal cramping. Has the baby dropped? Because if it has, its head may in fact be pressing on your lower spine when you have contractions, whether they're Braxton-Hicks or real labor.

Back labor is usually caused by the fact that the baby's face is pointing toward your front, with the back of its head, the hardest part of its body, against your spinal column. Hopefully, if this is the case now, your baby will turn around before the "big day." Good luck.

Sounds like it to me, call you doctor, I had it with both of my previous pregnancies, and my was a constent pain, so there was no timing them. I just went in.
