Pregnancy-related back pain:::advice?I'm between 20-25 weeks pregnant with my second (the doctor and ultrasound technician had some major differences in their estimates), and it's been a complete opposite experience from the pregnancy of my first.
My first trimester was terrible--I had nearly every symptom in the book, not to mention my bra size has gone from a D to a F. Always fun.
Anyway, my questions is this: how do other women deal with such an intense pregnancy back pain?
Nothing seems to work--I've tried a heated sock with rice in it (no heating pad), Tylenol, etc.
If I do ANYTHING in a day other than just lie on a couch, I always am dying a few hours later. Obviously with a 20 month old who is VERY active, I can't just do that! It feels like I have a pinched nerve at the base of my spine, which is quite painful.
I'm seeing the doctor on Thursday, but I just wanted to see how other women handled their pains?
It also doesn't help that we're in the process of moving, and packing has become a MAJOR pain, literally!
Thanks to you all!
With my son, I never remember any of this! Then again, it's not something you tend to remember fondly!!
I was on bedrest with him, but that was due to Preeclampsia. Thankfully that's not a worry YET.

I have heard people talk about a belly sling to help alleviate back pain.

They have a therapist that you can go to see that they can recommend . it isn't like a chiropractor but similar . i cannot remember the exact word used but I had alot of back pain with my third and they were going to make me an appointment but my insurance wouldn't cover it due it was normal back pain that goes along with being pg . Ask your doctor about this .

The only thing that worked for me until I got a lot bigger was sitting in a warm bath... that did wonders as long as it was warm enough!

I am 19 and very active as well and i had the same exact problem when I had my daughter a few months ago. The only thing (Sadly) that they said i could do was go on bedrest, yes it sucked, yes it was torture, but it helped with the pain and it went away after i rested. You just have to realize that you will always be in pain when you have a big ol human growing in you. Its an unfortunate side effect of having beautiful children :)

my friend is pregnant 20 something weeks along she just went to the Dr to cause a really bad back pain Dr just told her it was the baby staying on one sideand up towards the ribs he said nothing was wrong just muscles working harder and the joys of carrying a child, he did give her muscle relaxer to see if that helps,
