Can you get back pain from leaving the window open while sleeping at night?I usually leave my window open at night and lately it has been 45 - 57 degrees every night with cold winds. I sleep near the window..So recently I been having back pain ( sometimes spasms) and neck pain.
Can the cold winds cause this?
p.s I feel like a cold is coming on...
Answer by Doctor House in the House
No it would not. I always leave my window open a crack because my house gets extremely dry, and without fresh air I get nosebleeds.
The aches and pains could be from your oncoming cold/flu. However, if you continue to experience back and neck pain - these could be symptoms of a very serious condition such as meningitis. I would see your doctor immediately, and describe all of your symptoms.

Yes it can. Cold weather can cause or increase body aches. Try shutting your window, or taking some advil before bed. I have back aches everyday as soon as the weather turns cold.
