How did you relieve your hip/lower back pain caused by sleeping position?


How did you relieve your hip/lower back pain caused by sleeping position?I am 17 weeks 1 day pregnant. I try so very hard to sleep on my left and right sides at night, although I constantly catch myself waking up on my back. The pain is from constantly sleeping on my sides. I have a pregnancy pillow and it doesn't help much in relieving the hip/back pain. I already have some hips, so they constantly dig into the mattress and the mattress is really soft. How did you deal with the hip/back pain? I'm thinking about having my hubby drag the recliner upstairs so I can sleep in it for relief. I love my lil one soooo much and will do anything I need to for it, so if that's just how it is for the rest of the pregnancy with the hip/back pain, so be it :) Just wondering what worked for others. Thank you all!! :)
Mommy 2 be ~ My hubby and I are hopefully finding out the gender (if the lil one cooperates) on May 28th. I will be 19 weeks 4 days at that appt. so hopefully they can get a good clear picture :) Hope you are doing well!!

you dont have to sleep on your side until 20 weeks. but for the pain you can try tylenol and a heating pad. also a nice bath could help.

I've been sleeping in the recliner for quite some time now. Probably at least 3 months. I can't lay flat. On my sides or not, it hurts my hips. I have to lay back in the recliner to be comfortable. Sometimes I find myself on my side (semi) in the recliner and I will put a pillow between my legs. That helps sometimes for me. But mostly I just recline and it feels pretty good because all that pressure is not on my hips. Good Luck and I hope you can find a comfortable position!! :)

I use a body pillow. You wrap your legs around it and hug it basically! Its way more comfy!!!!! It supports everything! I couldn't sleep till I got my body pillow! GOOD LUCK HUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


ps...when are you finding out what your having ?!?!?!?!?!

there is no easy answer. everyone finds comfort in a different position. use lots of pillows to prop you up and your growing tummy. that is what i found to work best.
