Pressure near spleen and liver area but no pain? HELP?!?I'm an 18 year old female, and I really am started to get concerned. I know none of you can diagnose me.
I have had pressure under my left rib cage (I'm assuming around the spleen) for almost a month now. The pressure is never really painful, just sort of uncomfortable and noticeable, especially when I'm sitting down. My appetite comes and goes, but it's lessened significantly since this symptom started. Sometimes the area feels like it's burning (I think more so after I eat), but this doesn't happen often.
My symptoms first began with horrible back soreness/pain (in the middle of my spine) that went away after four days. I went to bed the night before feeling horribly depressed (which didn't make sense as I had just gotten off my period) and woke up unable to go back to sleep due to the back pain. Later that day, my left side of my neck (lymph nodes?) started to throb and were tender, and maybe a half an hour later, the left side of my lower ribcage (I'm guessing it was my spleen) started to hurt and throb. The pain subsided (as well as the tender lymph nodes in my neck), but this pressure remained. I went to the doctor for my back pain and left sided lower abdominal pressure and had a CBC done (which was normal) and was checked for mono and EBV (both negative). This eased my mind a little because I figured I could worry less about the possibility of leukemia with a normal CBC.
Now, about four weeks later, I'm starting to feel slight pressure on the right rib cage around what I assume would be the liver as well, but it's not as bad as on the left side. My appetite is still not very good, and I have been really stressing myself out with these symptoms. I've had them for about a month now. It isn't painful really at ALL, it's just pressure and discomfort, like there's something pushing that shouldn't be under the ribs. The lower left side of my rib cage has a significant bulge as compared to the right. I get some light burping now and then as well, even if I haven't eaten anything. I've also noticed some of my joints have been aching more frequently than normal now. They aren't swollen, but they just seem to ache more.
I went for a pelvic exam recently because I was worried that the indigestion and the lack of appetite might be something like ovarian cancer (yes I know I'm a hypochondriac) and because I'd been having some brownish, foul smelling vaginal discharge and cramping in between periods. She told me everything felt normal though. She also felt some of my abdomen, my breathing, and checked my lymph nodes in my neck during the exam. According to her, things felt fine.
I have been a bit more tired lately and occasionally get night sweats (not very frequently though, and it's nothing drenching like I've read can occur with lymphoma). These don't happen often. I have also noticed I have a light cough now too, like a slight tickle is in my throat. This comes and goes.
I'm going to call the doctor again soon and ask for a CT scan if possible, but I am so worried. Its distracting me from my studies and life in general.
Any ideas? Does this sound like liver cancer? Lymphoma? I feel like I'm running in circles, and I'm terrified.
My mother's mom had rheumatoid arthritis, so I'm wondering if maybe I might be developing something autoimmune as well?
Just wanted to add that I don't drink or smoke, and I'm not sexually active.

GO TO A DOCTOR. Why would you be asking unlicensed strangers is you're so worried about this? Get to a doctor

Ooh, this is a tough one, seeing as how all your tests are normal. Could be a lymphoma, but as your symptoms began less than a month ago and progressed so quickly, that's highly unlikely. What also makes it unlikely is that your lymph nodes were tender, and that the swelling subsided (with lymphoma you'd get nontender, hard, swollen lymph nodes that wouldn't subside). Keeping everything in mind, I'm definitely thinking autoimmune (SLE Lupus?), but there's a chance it could be an infection, or it could be sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis causes many apparently random symptoms and presents in different ways, and is difficult to diagnose, but it can cause many of your symptoms. The thing with sarcoidosis though is that >90% patients present with lung problems, which it seems you don't have. Ask your doc if it's a possibility. But erm, go to a doctor. This sounds like one of those cases where a bunch of labs/imaging is needed to get a clearer idea.

That occasionally burping could develop into gastric reflux. Gastric reflux can lead to ulcers.
To prevent such a scenario avoid spicy, fatty, acidy foods, find an alternative to wheat and dairy products as they are the usual problem foods and avoid alcohol and caffeine.
Your body can heal it self if you feed and look after it well.
Remember to see a reputable doctor if your symptoms persist.
Be careful in accessing health/medical websites and much of the answers on Yahoo Answers as there are a lot of bogus people out there.
