Back Pain Info:Back pain due to pressure on a nerve.?

Back pain due to pressure on a nerve.?I've been struggling with chronic back pain for almost 20 years now. I have a curved spine. I also have degenerative disc disorder. I've tried many procedures to ease the pain (chiropractor, Novocain injections, intense physical therapy, tens unit, heat therapy, moist heat therapy, massage therapy, over the counter meds., muscle relaxers, strong narcotics, yoga and stretching exercises on a therapy ball). One option I have is to have the bone that is rubbing the nerve shaved back. This is a surgical procedure. I'm reluctant to do it since the previous attempts I've made have failed. Does anyone else suffer from this type of chronic back pain? How do you cope? What can be done to ease the pain caused by a pressed nerve?

Wow you have tried most things, I have a friend who mid last year had the bone shaved she's doing great now. She has to take it easy as far as sports come but, having been forced to lie down for weeks before the Op she is completely changed now.

Did none of the treatments above work? I was going to suggest myofascial release techniques with a foam roller or the use of an inversion table

Sorry to hear about your problem and pain. I know it must be very difficult to deal with. I have a son who has back problems but the injections are working for him right now.

I just saw a website last night that was saying how taking the regular kitchen spice Turmeric and/or Ginger could help people with all types of pain. The website has all kinds of testimonials of people that have been helped with severe pain, arthritis pain, and much more. I was shocked at all the things that those simple spices can help and am today going to recommend it to my son and to my brother-in-law who has severe arthritis of the spine and hips and degenerative disc disorder and he takes tons of additive pain medications daily. There are different ways you can mix it to take it but all the ways are on the website. It is earthclinic website.
Sure hope this will help you as well as my son and brother-in-law to be out of pain.
