My lower back hurts when I get up from sitting and when I'm walking. How do I ease the pain?Okay, so this morning I bent over to pick up my son's toys on the floor (I bent my knees while doing that), then when I got up, my lower back started to hurt. I don't know if I got up quick (I don't recall) or how I got up caused my lower back to hurt, but it hurts. And now, my lower back hurts when getting up from sitting and while walking. What did I do to my back and what can I do to ease the pain?

Try using an ice pack (or a bag of frozen peas) for 20 minutes. It will help take down any swelling that might be happening. Also take some ibuprofen. This will also help with any swelling as well as help the pain.
If the ice pack makes the muscles hurt more, switch to a heating pad. If it is a pulled muscle the heat will help them relax.
If the pain continues after several days, see your Dr. Good luck

It could be anything, nerve problem, muscle problem, kidneys or a number of other things...It is impossible to answer your question without knowing what the actual problem is. Ask your Doctor for a referral for a CT or MRI scan.
The wrong type of treatment or exercises can do more damage than good and you need to have your back properly diagnosed prior to ANY treatment.
Again you do need to have a CT / MRI scan or such done before allowing ANYONE to touch your back.
Get a professional opinion from the radiologist doing the scan in his report to your doctor and then go from there.

You don't say exactly where the pain is, but that doesn't matter if you want free information. Here is a book from a guy that really knows his stuff, helped me out for free. I bought his self adjusting book later though so I could help my boyfriend out with a rib he had out of alignment.
