Can anyone offer any relief from intercostal neuralgia pain in pregnancy?I am 31 and a half weeks and have been having this pain for nearly a month. My midwife refered me to a ciropractor and it does not seem to be helping. I know it takes time, but I need some instant relief. She has me doing some heat therapy and stretching. Tylenol does not even touch the pain. It starts in my back to the right of my spine and shoots all the way around the side to the front. My friends and family are pretty much calling me a big baby and said it's just the baby growing and "normal" pregnancy pain. There is no way this kind of pain can be normal. It brings tears to my eyes and keeps me from being able to function at work. The only relieve it get is laying flat on my back without a pillow and my legs flat out also. I obviously cannot do that at work. Anyone have any other suggestions or suffered this. Is this just normal pregnancy pain? Am I a wimp? This is my first baby by the way. THANKS!!
I do use a heatpad at work, but I was told to only use it for 10 minutes every 2 hours. It does work, but as soon as the area cools back off the pain come right back. The thought of 8 more weeks of this is very discouraging. Even though i know in the end it's worth it.

I have been having the same problems, my doctor suggested a heating pad, swimming in pool, or soaking in the bath tub. I have tried them all and they seem to help a little. being at the office you could probably use a heating pad to eleviate some of the pain. But I can tell you that you are not a wimp, it is painful but it is worth it.
