Cervical Cancer/Low Back Pain?Hey guys,
I've just turned 23 and for the past 8 mths ..I've been having low back pain on/off. It's a dull low back pain and I might not have it for a couple of days / week .. then it comes back again.
I am NOT pregnant ...I have only had one sexual partner (my current one) all my life and I do not have any STI's.
My periods are 35 days apart lately ...which is a little more spread out than usual but they are not heavier and they have always been painful.
I demanded my doctor book me an ultrasound which I am currently waiting on as the back pain wasn't bothering me but I am passing more mucus than usual ..not a lot but sometimes it is tinged with brown. My bloods are fine.
My question is if the back pain was cervial/ovarian cancer would it come/go or would if be there all the time? Should I be worried?

I don't see how you are making a connection between your symptoms and cervical cancer, but if it were due to any cancer the pain could come and go. If you are that concerned about cervical cancer why are you demanding an ultrasound instead of a pap smear?

It could be intermittent pain if it is cervical cancer. The blood part if a bit worrysome, but then again it could just be that your cervix is inflammed or fragile. Did you doctor do a Pap test or not during your last visit? That is the best way to see if you have cervical cancer as they will easily detect the changes in cells. The ultrasound isn't going to help with knowing if it is cervical cancer though, it is usually checked by a colposcopy (they look at your cervix with a microscope, basically). If your pap test results are fine, ask for a colposcopy anyway. I had pretty much the same thing and all my pap tests were fine but they checked anyway with the colpo and it turns out it was nothing, just that the cervix was a bit more fragile and likely to bleed for almost no reason. So don't worry needlessly, and ask for a pap test.
